Alexia Dyslexia
"Where have you been?" Seems to be the question on the streets when I go out. "When's the new article coming out" always follows. I've got a simple answer:

I've been checking out the scenes! Not just "my" scene, but all kinds of scenes. Believe it or not, I'm actually tired of telling people what to wear. Well, not really, but just for now. I've came up with a new theory. If everyone dressed punk, there would be no punk. The same for preps, jocks, skank, thug, vintage, goth and rave.

Let me make this easier for you. If everyone dressed "cool" like you, you wouldn't be cool. Besides, sometimes a raver doesn't look right like a prep. We cannot go around making fun of people different from us. Well, actually we can, and I will, but it isn't nice. The fact that I'm evil proves that you shouldn't follow my "sins" although there fun, mysterious and all that good junk.

Stores:

Cinderella's Attic: *Ferndale* While I was in this wonderful vintage store, Karen Neal from Queen Bee (the band) came in and started shopping too. The whole atmosphere of this store is great, cats, famous people, and owners who aren't stingy all make this place the place to be.

By the way, Karen is the nicest person. Thrall's CD release party has Queen Bee and Stroker Ace as special guests at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor May 18th. You can also visit her website at www.QueenBeeHoney.homestead.com

*Note: At C.A. I ended up buying a silver metallic mesh fishnet scarf, blue plaid grandpa shorts and a maroon "hippy shirt" for$20. They also loaded me down with pins and all sorts of free gifts.

Hot Topic: This store is a generic/original store. It's in Oakland and a few other malls. It's got its own crowded claustrophobic atmosphere, with all sorts of music going on. I have seen all sorts of people checking out this store. It generally has nice salespeople, but sometimes you get overlooked. The sales people dress tight too.

*bright blue raver pants, "Mullets rock" necklace and patch, combat boots and quite a lot of other stuff was bought here by yours truly.

Beatnix: *Ferndale* This store is VERY cute. It's quite original though pricey and reminds me of a place celebrities would buy their original clothing. Salespeople are nice and helpful. Everywhere I turned I wanted something else.

*All I bought was a pink $.50 bracelet

Mother Fletchers: *Ferndale* this vintage store has been here nearly 10 years so the owner and I are good friends. He's not around a lot though, and often the salespeople here overlook you for someone who looks like they've got money.

Sincerely-
